Couldn’t Resist….
Dave and Jason have already discussed Vampire Weekend’s highly anticipated 2008 release and their impressive performance in Chicago. We Are the Take are a Toronto-based group that started in the fall of 2006, as an acoustic outlet for Erik Alcock and Craig Strickland. By the end of the year, they added bassist Andrew Hobbs and drummer Stephan Szczezniak. They’ve played countless shows in Toronto and are currently recording their debut album.
“Let me Ruin Your Life” and “Montreal Love Life,” featured on their Myspace page, give me reason to look forward to a proper release. Especially, the haunting beginning to “Montreal Love Life,” and the song’s hushed, delicate vocals throughout. It only seems right that I do my best to keep stock of the 416 in 2008.
