Got a Mac? Digg Muxtape? Read on…

Muxtape

For me, Muxtape is become simply, invaluable. My job right now doesn’t allow me to store music on a computer, so a streaming site like this one continues to amaze me. If you’re not familiar with it, please take a look on their home page or my previous post that includes my first 12 track mix. The point of this post continues below…

The only downfall is sifting through people’s sets until you find one you fancy, although a lot of these mixes seem to be constructed by people like you and me. Instead of clicking random mixes, why not setup your browser to act like Cover Flow to pre-browse everyone’s mix? Check this tutorial here on how to utilize this time saving feature. Quality!

If you’re in this situation you really should check out imeem.com - imeem is youtube for music, upload tunes from your favorite bands then imeem lets anyone listen. There are limits though, the music has to be licensed and paid for so bands like ‘the beatles’ don’t allow their stuff on imeem, but the Rolling Stones do.

Muxtape is in essence a clone of the playlist feature of imeem, but they haven’t gone to the trouble of signing record deals or paying artists. imeem’s catalog is huge, something like ten million tracks are now on the site, posted by the artists and fans, mainly fans.

So I assume you aren’t able to utilize this feature on the machines at work, right? If you do, this concept has to be golden for you since you’ve been banging various Muxtapes lately.

By the way, who is that loser featured in your Cover Flow example. He’s broke.
